| This half
day abseiling session allows you to experience
the thrill of abseiling. You will be equipped in a
climbing harness and helmet before being instructed in the
technique of controlling your own descent. It's an
adrenaline charged experience leaning back over the the
cliff-top but your instructor will talk you through while
holding you securely on the safety rope. Before you
know it you will be walking backwards down the cliff, and
enjoying it!
Burrington Combe is the ideal
venue for most abseiling beginners groups. The cliffs
are inclined slabs up to 15 metres which are not too
intimidating for younger children.
Split Rock near Wells is our
preferred abseiling site for adult groups and more
adventurous youngsters. The cliffs are vertical and up
to 25 metres high. The abseils are long enough to
allow a 'bouncing' descent in true SAS style!
Timings - either a morning
session starting at 1000 and ending at 1230 or an afternoon
session running from 1400 to 1630.
